1. What is DC2NY`s policy on refunds ?

DC2NY does not offer refunds.  Please be definite about your travel plans when you are booking with DC2NY. When you miss your bus, you forfeit your seat and the funds you used to purchase the seat.


2. Does DC2NY offer the ability to make changes to my reservation ?

Yes,  as long as this is done 24 hours prior to your trip.  It can be done by you online, by clicking here. DC2NY TOO members are allowed to make changes up to 12 hours before departure.


3. When and how can I reschedule my DC2NY ticket ?

You can reschedule your ticket, without additional cost,  as long as you do it 24 hours prior to your departure. Please click on the "reschedule your trip" link on the bottom of the Reservation Page,  and enter the Order ID that you received on your E-Ticket, and your e-mail address. Now you will be able to reschedule your trip.


4. What do I do if I don`t know my new travel dates ?

You can put your ticket on hold indefinitely.


5. Do all of your buses have your DC2NY logo on the sides ?
No,  as we have grown we are using other late model buses that are not branded DC2NY,  please be sure to ask either our dispatcher or driver if they are operating the DC2NY Express before making any assumptions.

6. What do I need to bring with me to the DC2NY Bus ?

You don`t need to bring anything as long as you completed the payment process.  However,  it is always a good idea to have your DC2NY E-Ticket with you as it confirms your trip details.


7. Can I purchase a ticket on DC2NY for someone other than me ?

Yes,  you can book on the DC2NY website for a passenger other than yourself and pay with your own credit card.


8. Which destinations does DC2NY serve?

Currently DC2NY provides daily bus service between New York City, NY and downtown Washington, DC from 2 stops in Washington, DC and 1 location in New York City.


9. What is the duration of the trip?

The average trip duration between Washington, DC and NYC is 4 to 4½ hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.


10. Where are DC2NY`s bus stops located?

11. When should I arrive at the bus? What happens if I am late?

Passengers should arrive at the bus at least 15 minutes before departure. Seats will not be held if the passenger doesn`t arrive on time and may be reassigned 15 minutes before departure. When you are late your forfeit your seat and the funds you used to purchase the seat.


12. Are there A/C outlets on the bus to be able to plug in my laptop computer?

No, there are no outlets available on the bus. We would suggest that you arrive with your laptop fully charged and perhaps pack a spare battery.


13. Do I have to pay at the time of the reservation?

Yes. Payment is required when you make your reservation. Because we don`t offer refunds, please be sure about your travel plans when you book with us.  DC2NY accepts all major credit cards and PayPal accounts.


14. How much is the fare?

The DC2NY fare is $50 round-trip online, or $28 one-way online.  Members of our DC2NY TOO Community when logged in as a member will pay only $46.00 round-trip or $25.00 one-way. The DC2NY fare for walk-up passengers is $30 cash one way.


15. Can I buy a round-trip ticket for $50 on the bus?

No. The DC2NY discount is for online reservations only. 


16. What method of payment can I use when paying for my trip on the bus?

We accept cash only for walk-up reservations.


17. Is there assigned seating on DC2NY buses?

No. Seating is on a 1st–come, 1st-served basis.


18. What is DC2NY`s policy on luggage and bicycles?

You may bring your bike with you and a maximum of three pieces of luggage may be stowed in the luggage compartment of the bus. The weight of each piece may not exceed 50 pounds. DC2NY takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen property. One small carry-on is allowed if it fits under the seat or in the overhead bin on the bus.


19. Is smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages allowed on DC2NY buses? How about snacks and other beverages?

In order for DC2NY to secure the health and safety of our passengers and drivers, smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages is not allowed on any of our DC2NY buses. Passengers may transport unopened alcoholic beverages in their luggage for use at their destination. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are ok as long as they do not annoy your fellow passengers and the bus is kept clean.


20. Does DC2NY provide seating for disabled passengers?

We provide priority seating for disabled or elderly passengers. If a bus with a wheelchair lift is needed, we will provide such bus upon request. Your request needs to be made at least 48 hours prior to your desired date of travel. This advance notice is in accordance with federal guidelines and allows DC2NY to make the necessary arrangements to provide requested assistance. 


21. Do you allow pets on the DC2NY bus?

No.  DC2NY`s policy is to only allow service animals who are accompanying guests who have a disability as defined by the American with Disabilities Act. The service animal is the responsibility of its owner and must be under the control of its owner at all times (i.e., leash, harness or carrier). Service animals must ride in the bus within the customer`s space and may not travel in the aisle or occupy a seat. 


22. What is DC2NY`s policy on the use of cell phones?

DC2NY passengers need to be considerate of their fellow passengers when using cell phones during the trip. Conversations need to be kept short and in a low tone of voice.


23. What does DC2NY mean by "Free on-board internet service" ?

DC2NY passengers will enjoy complimentary internet service while on-board. However,  because of connection issues, this service cannot be guaranteed.
